Ocean Landers

Ocean Landers are autonomous, untethered, freefall platforms that transport sensors and samplers to the seafloor, remain for a time, then return to the surface by releasing a drop weight and floating upward.
Global Ocean Design builds ocean landers big and small for universities, government labs, industry, and filmmakers. Our landers are rated for depths from 1km to 11km, for durations of days to up to a year. Ocean lander payloads can include samplers, sensors, cameras, and other mission defined equipment. We have direct working relationships with numerous sampler and sensor manufacturers, including RBR, EdgeTech, Ocean Instruments, and others.
