The Global Ocean Design Magnetically Activated Switch for Glass Spheres uses a neodymium magnet to turn off or turn on a system before deployment. A normally open-common-normally closed (SPDT) reed switch is located inside the Titanium 6-4 body. The bright orange screw-on cap containing the magnet is used to activate the switch and then is removed before deployment.
